Microsoft Sues Spammers
Microsoft filed 15 lawsuits against alleged senders of unsolicited commercial email in the U.S. and U.K. The company filed 13 civil suits in the U.S. for sending unwanted, deceptive commercial email to Microsoft customers and two suits in the U.K. for illegal "harvesting" of customer email addresses and other illegal spamming practices.

DealTime Lowers Minimum Bid
DealTime, the fifth largest online shopping site, has lowered the minimum bids for merchants to list on shopping search engine, and launched an SKU volume discount program for merchants listing 5,000 SKUs or more. The initiatives are designed to encourage more participation in the shopping search engine, in which merchants bid for customers on a cost-per-click basis. http://www.dealtime.com/sku

Amazon.com to Power Retail Sites
Amazon.com Inc. announced the launch of a new subsidiary, Amazon Services Inc., to make the technology and services that power Amazon.com available to retailers. Amazon Services provides retailers a turnkey, outsourced ecommerce solution that incorporates Amazon.com's widely recognized shopping features and technology, while still allowing retailers to entirely control the look and feel of their Web sites.
