Last week, we asked you some questions about you and your business in our first ever eCommerce Guide survey. It's been great to get a better handle on who you are, what you sell, and how you market. This week, we share the answers with you, so you can learn more about your fellow MyEZsale readers.
As you'll discover in the "Survey Says" article, online auction sites are where you do most of your selling currently. And effective marketing is one of your biggest challenges. That's why I am particularly excited about Susan Heywood's piece in this issue, "Doing the Math: Keywords by eBay v. Google AdWords."
The Google Adwords and other "pay-per-click" ad services such as Overture have been one of the hottest things to hit the Internet this past year or so. So when eBay got into the mix, introducing its own pay-per-click ad service, it caused a few people to raise eyebrows (and inspired dramatic headlines such as Bloomberg's "Web Wars: Google takes on eBay").
Many of us who sell on eBay are waiting with bated breath to hear how the new "Keywords by eBay" advertising program is working for other sellers. Wait no more: eBay Seller and marketing expert Susan Heywood clues us in to how it's been working for her.
And speaking of marketing, Ina Steiner shares some marketing lessons from the eTail2003 conference she attended in Boston earlier this month.
Finally, I just want to remind everybody to check out myEZsale's Bookshelf http://myezsale.com/cab/pages/bookstore. We have gathered together books and other materials we think would be helpful to you as an online seller. And, if you have a book, software package, or other resource you think would be helpful to other sellers, please write me at Julia@myezsale.com and let me know!
